7 Things to Ask Your Venue Before You Sign A Contract

1. How many people does this space accommodate?

This should be one of the first questions you ask. You don’t want your guests to be stuck at the ceremony or reception with no seats! Having a space max out at a little higher than your guest count is perfect. It will give you and your guests plenty of space to dance, eat, drink, and have fun!

2. Do you have a bad weather plan?

If there is no bad weather plan… it is a no-go! Having a bad weather plan is important because steps need to be in place in the case of rain, snow, or a large storm. The steps need to be taken quickly so a beautiful and effortless event can still take place.

3. What is the parking situation like for guests?

It is not suitable for guests to be parking in a mud pit. Be sure to ask about the parking arrangements and see them for yourself. It is also to important to consider your elderly and handicapped guests. Will they be able to get to the ceremony and reception site easily?

4. What is the time limit? Do we get charged for staying late?

This is one of the greatest days of your life. You should be able to enjoy every second of it. Here at Lauxmont Farms we allow you to dance the night away. There are NO time or noise restrictions. This allows our couples and their guests to take advantage of the entire day. There is plenty of time for friends, family, and love.

5. How many weddings do you allow on this site a day?

It is important to have full-access to your wedding on your wedding day!

6. What is your payment policy?

It is important for wedding vendors to understand your financial budget and wedding plans. We all can’t pay for vendors in full and in cash. Some of us work better with monthly or quarterly payment plans. We know life gets hectic and even crazier when you are planning a wedding. Here at Lauxmont Farms we have four unique payment options to fit your budget. We also don’t charge interest or any other late fees.

7. What is included in the rental fee?

You need to know everything that is included in the rental fee. Surprises are not fun when it comes to the wedding planning process! Be sure to ask if chairs, tables, ceremony arches, linens, planning, catering, and other vendors are included. Knowing all this information will help you along in the planning process.
